Cat goes missing on BC Ferries sailing; owners seek help to find Luigi
Luigi, a black-and-white tuxedo cat, slipped out of a truck window on the lower car deck during the 10:15 a.m. Coastal Inspiration sailing from Duke Point to Tsawwassen on Aug. 9; crew and family searched but he wasn’t found.
First reported by CHEK News, a black-and-white tuxedo cat named Luigi went missing on Saturday, Aug. 9, during BC Ferries’ 10:15 a.m. sailing of the Coastal Inspiration from Duke Point to Tsawwassen.
Newlywed Neelya Herbert says Luigi escaped through a small opening from the truck’s rear window while their vehicle was parked on the lower deck. Ferry regulations meant the couple could not remain on the car deck during the crossing. When they returned at the end of the trip, Luigi was gone. He was reportedly wearing a blue harness and is microchipped.
